Interfaith: 2nd Annual Warm for Winter 1000 Scarves/Hats
A CHARITY CAMPAIGN IS ON!
“Warm for the Winter: 1000 Hats/ Scarves”
Goal is knitting/ crocheting 1000 Hats & Scarves for the Homeless! Collection at MAPS on 11/09/07
Each handmade scarf represents an individual or family in need of a home.
We need to create 1000 low income affordable homes each year to end homelessness in King County within the next eight years.
Any size hat or scarf is wonderful, though more men are homeless.
We are asking commitments from diverse organizations, seniors, youth and or schools with interested knitters/crocheters, fleece sewers willing to contribute to keeping the homeless warm while awaiting housing.
There are children, women and men, ALL in need of housing. They wait in lines every day for food and assistance. These hats/ scarves will help keep the chill off their necks and the gifts will brighten a homeless person’s day!
This is a 100% volunteer effort – currently no paid staff, we are concerned individuals who are working together to end homelessness.
